Music for Japan

To commemorate the disaster which hit Japan one year ago on March 11th 2011, we would like to draw your attention once again to the project SOUL AID: music for japan. With the current total of 58 tracks “donated” by various musicians, they have managed to raise £2,490.50 + ¥46,800 to donate to Civic Force (a Japanese organisation that specialises in emergency disaster relief.) Tracks have had nearly 70,000 plays and 35,000 downloads in total, of which 23% were accessed from Japan.

The list of participants in the project include internationally renowned music artists underground resistance, K Alexi Shelby, morgan geist, jeff mills, amongst many others. It’s a simple platform to share music donated by artists along with their personal
message for FREE. Their main objective is to cheer up and give mental or spiritual support to Japanese music fans by delivering them sincere thoughts and music from some of their favourite artists.

Their secondary objective is to call members of the music community around the world for donation, to make a small financial contribution to the relief efforts for the most needed. All proceeds will be donated to a Japanese emergency relief organisation called Civic Force, which continues to operate mainly in Kesennuma city in conjunction with other relief organisations via Just Giving.
